stopjon.com is Jon Pederson's personal site. It's a conversation, so here is plainly what happens to what you share.
The conversation
What you type in the console is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate replies, along with Jon's own notes that the console draws on. Unless you choose to save it (below), the conversation lives only in your browser tab; this site doesn't keep a copy of it once the tab is closed. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms and does not use it to train models.
The site keeps short-lived operational logs (for example, token usage and errors) with its host, DigitalOcean. It also keeps anonymous weekly counts for Jon: how many conversations happened, a short topic label for each (like “roadmap prioritization”), which site referred you, and questions the console couldn't answer, in general terms. No names, emails or messages are part of that.
What your browser remembers
So a return visit can pick up where you left off, your browser keeps the notes shown in “What I'm learning about you” and your last outcome brief. They stay in your browser and are only sent back into your own next conversation. “Forget me” erases them.
If you share an outcome brief, the link itself carries the brief. Anyone with the link can read it, so share it the way you'd share the text.
Saving conversations
If you choose to save a conversation, it's stored on the site's database (DigitalOcean) under your email address or phone number, protected by the PIN you set. Your PIN and recovery phrase are stored only as one-way hashes, so not even Jon can read them. The email or phone isn't used to contact you; it's just how you sign in. You can delete any saved conversation, or your whole account and everything in it, from the “saved” menu in the console.
Booking a call
If you choose to book time with Jon, your name, email, the time you pick and a short summary of what you want to talk about go into a Google Calendar invitation that is sent to you and to Jon. The site's access to Google Calendar is limited to checking when Jon is free and creating that invitation. Its use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Keeping it human
To keep automated traffic out, the site uses Cloudflare Turnstile and a session cookie that only lets your browser use the console. There are no ads, no third-party analytics, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
